Nintendo today announced from its Japanese website that the upcoming Pokemon Snap for N64 will be backed by a convenience store-based "PuriKura" system in Japan. In Japan gamers can take their Pokemon Snap cartridges and go to participating stores of the Japanese convenience store chain Lawson's, and plug them into specially designed sticker printing units. The device then brings up the player's virtual photo album. Select the pics you want to print and wait for a few seconds -- out comes this sheet with 16 self-adhesive Pokemon "snaps:" The picture to the left shows the original size of the stickers. Nintendo Co. Ltd. also announced that the game would ship on March 21 in Japan and sell for �6800. It remains to be seen what Nintendo of America is planning to do with the game's sticker capabilities. Pokemon Snap is scheduled for a June 28 release in the US.
